- Avoid the solar, especially between 10 a.m. and four p.m., when the solar is at its brightest. Take your daily walk in the morning or late afternoon. Many bugs breed in water, so keep away from stagnant pools and soggy grass.
- Block sunlight with a sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater. Apply sunblock half an hour earlier than going out and reapply each couple of hours.
- Cowl up. Wear unfastened-fitting, tightly woven clothes that attain your wrists and ankles; UV-protected sunglasses; and hats with four-inch brims to cowl eyes, ears, scalp and neck. Insects are attracted to bright colors and powerful perfumes, so gown neutrally and go straightforward on scents.
- Defend your self. Use a twig to repel bugs.
